History of SM & MST Construction of Dumaguete
The SM & MST
Construction Company is owned and operated by Engr. Stanley R. Tinio.
It began business operations in 1998 with limited funding because
Engr. Tinio was still employed in a key government office in
Dumaguete City. Initially, Engr. Tinio offered his professional
engineering services to friends and acquaintances, negotiating deals
at the porch of his home.
In 2005 Engr. Tinio
put up an office in Dumaguete to provide clients a more comfortable,
yet professional, setting for discussing their needs and
requirements. The company’s business operations, also improved as
the number of clients increased. And as the company’s employees grew
in number, worker’s skill in construction techniques and
installation of many unique materials, for which the company is
exclusive distributor, was never compromised.
The choice of the
company name is actually rooted to the owner’s highest regard for
his family. “SM” is a combination of the first letters of the name
of the sole proprietor Stanley and his wife Marjorie.
“MST,” meanwhile, is attributed their three children Matt
Simon Tinio,
Micah Sophia Tinio, Matt Sebastian Tinio.
Today, from an
initial business catering to the Dumaguete locale, the SM & MST
Construction Co. has expanded its reach providing services to any
point in the Visayas region. Construction jobs have been completed
in Cebu, Bohol, Dipolog, Siquijor, Bacolod, Ilo-ilo, Capiz and. And aside from developing,
renovating, and making additions to existing buildings, the company
also offers free consultations with prospective new clients.
In anticipations of
growing housing commercial industry, the SM & MST Construction Co. has built a warehouse in Bagacay, Dumaguete to store and
distributes its ever growing inventory of building materials for use
in its own construction projects and for resale to customers.
